Biography

Alina Marin-Bliach was born in Havana, Cuba in 1960.  She currently lives and works in New Jersey.

Alina received a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1986 from Long Island University in New York. Unable to stay away from her life’s passion, she returned to school. In 2006 she earned an Associates of Fine Arts in Photography from Mercer County Community College, graduating with Highest Honors. After years of successfully running her own photography business, she decided to continue with her education. She earned an MFA in Photography from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2016, graduating with an impressive cumulative GPA and fulfilling her desire to further her studies.

Known for her fine art photography and the painterly look to her work, Alina’s photographs exhibit a rare three-dimensional quality that draws the viewer into the deeper examination of the subject. 

Alina has won numerous awards and honors including a finalist in Best of Photography 2013; First and Second Prize honors in the Pollux Awards; Merit Awards in the Professional Photographers of America International Competitions; PPA Loan Collection honor; Hasselblad Photographer of the Month; and a few International Photography Awards honorable mentions.

The artist’s exhibitions include shows at the Borges Cultural Center in Buenos Aires, Argentina; The Room in Soho, NYC; Essex County College in Newark, NJ; Arts Council of Princeton in Princeton, NJ; Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, NJ; Phillips Mill in New Hope, PA; Gallery 125in Trenton, NJ; Artworks in Trenton, NJ; Passaic County College in Patterson, NJ; and Art Along the Fence in Hoboken,NJ.
